Leadership Coaching Often in the hospitality industry employees are promoted based on their solid skills and performance, showing determination to do a good job. Yet, transitioning from an employee into a management roll isn’t second nature to everyone and often requires a mentor or coach to assist the process. Cammelletti Consulting believes in a series of focused and purposeful conversations designed to help managers articulate their needs and goals and undertake a plan of action to achieve those goals. I focus on supporting the individual’s management skills while expanding and shifting into a leadership role. This will help the manager build trust with their team members and in turn learn how to coach the individuals and understand each person individually. The coaching process begins by asking the manager what areas they want to grow in. Then expanding with the following questions. What does a leader do differently than a manager? How will you balance your Leadership and Management Mindsets? Why must a leader consider multiple perspectives? What conversations are most important to hold? How does a leader participate most effectively in conversations? Services are outlined the following way:
Meet with manager via webcam for 45-60 minutes twice a month
Send additional articles or videos relating to individual goals between coaching sessions
Utilize applicable leadership books to dig into focused areas
Review in coaching sessions challenging situations or conversations
Provide summary of the coaching session following each coaching session
Leadership agendas are sent two weeks prior to the coaching session and include an article or video complementing the manager’s leadership goals. The idea is to have the article or video takeaways sent to the coach in between sessions to keep the manager’s goals at the forefront of their minds. During the coaching sessions the takeaways will be discussed along with challenging situations the manager has experienced and talking through those situations to give additional guidance and create insight for the manager. The manager will then outline where they are pacing in their leadership goals with examples of successes and a number ranking system.
